Credit Union Scholarships

UniStar FCU wants to make a difference in your student’s life. Helping our college-bound members to further their educational goals is one of the most meaningful things your credit union does. We are very proud and pleased to offer two exciting scholarship opportunities.

Statewide Credit Union Scholarship Program

$1,000 and $500 Scholarships
(In 2007, (5) $1,000 and (17) $500 scholarships were awarded.)

The eligible member must be a high school senior who will attend a two- or four-year college in the fall of 2008. Scholarship selections are based on academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities, and essay responses. Applications must be received at the New York State Credit Union League by Friday, February 1, 2008.

Applications may be obtained at any branch of UniStar FCU. In early spring, applications will be judged against others submitted from all over the state. Winners will be announced in April.

Students of the Year Scholarship Program

One award of $1,500, two for $750, four for $500

In partnership with WFAS AM/FM, UniStar FCU is pleased to offer a total of $5,000 in scholarships to seven of Westchester County’s finest graduating seniors. Students will be judged on their academic strength, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, and service to the community. Applications must be received by Friday, June 6, 2008.

Students interested in participating should contact their guidance counselor or call UniStar FCU at (914) 631-1381. Applications can also be downloaded from UniStar’s website at www.unistarfcu.org.
